Introduction
This course is an introduction to general Well Stimulation focusing on Matrix Acidizing and Hydraulic Fracturing Design Methodologies and Quality Control Processes at the Basic level. Formation Damage mechanisms are discussed as an introduction to Acidizing. Hydraulic Fracturing is presented as a process to increase the productivity of wells in tight formations. Both methods are explained in sandstones and carbonates formations and numerous exercises are included to facilitate the comprehension of concepts and their practical application.
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to establish Operation Objectives and discuss with Service Companies the full Design-Execution-Evaluation processes.
Training Methodology
The program is delivered in a combination of lecture-style and computer-based training. In addition, a significant amount of time is set aside for small working group activity when addressing case study problems. Extensive use is made of case study material to underline the key aspects of the course and to give the delegates exposure to current best practice.
Who Should Attend?
Fresh-out Production and Reservoir Engineers and Geoscientists needing to deal with the Candidate Selection and Design of Acidizing and Fracturing Operations.
