Jet Fuel Specifications

Introduction

Public relations is a strategic communications process that organisations use to build mutually beneficial relationships with the public. It encompasses all steps and actions taken to drive the public to think of an organisation as desired by the organisation itself. In most cases, public relations efforts are undertaken to ensure a positive image and reputation of an organisation in the eyes of the public.

Jet fuel is a type of aviation fuel designed to be used in aircraft powered by gas-turbine engines. Because the exact composition of jet fuel varies widely based on the petroleum source and type, it is impossible to define jet fuel as a ratio of specific hydrocarbons. Jet fuel is therefore defined as a performance specification rather than a chemical compound. In this training course, the emphasis will be on jet fuel chemistry, manufacturing, specifications, handling, and troubleshooting techniques that would lead ultimately to improved fuel utilization, optimization, and enhanced organizational economics.

A case study approach covers some selected jet fuel specifications, sampling methodology, analytical methods, quality monitoring, pricing, and trading will be presented. In addition to the scientific procedures and contents of this training course, many real-life case studies and implementations are planned to be daily presented in an open discussion forum with the participants.

The Jet Fuel Specifications training course provides both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills highlighting:

  • Jet fuel chemistry and manufacturing technologies
  • Jet fuel specifications and quality monitoring system
  • Testing parameters for Jet fuel
  • Contaminants and jet fuel testing methods
  • Jet fuel Material Safety Data Sheet
  • Jet fuel additives
  • Effect of jet fuel properties on engine performance

Objectives

By the end of this Jet Fuel Specifications training course, participants will be able to:

    • Describe jet fuel chemistry, manufacturing, and handling.
    • Understand the basics of jet fuel production and its relevant refining processes.
    • Explain jet fuel properties and their impact on fuel performance.
    • Discuss jet fuel quality, specifications, and market fundamentals of supply and demand.
    • Troubleshoot quality problems and contamination of jet fuels.

Understand Jet fuel trading and pricing mechanisms.

Training Methodology

This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practices. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
